Winsford Regatta 2015
Your are invited to the 2nd Winsford Regatta ....
The River Weaver, connected to the Trent & Mersey Canal by the iconic Anderton Boat Lift, is an impressive and fascinating navigation.
An opportunity to see the river at its best will occur on the weekend of 18th - 20th September 2015, when the River Weaver Navigation Society, will be presenting the Second Winsford Salt Regatta, on the Bottom Winsford Flash.
This is a beautiful stretch of navigable water, spontaneously appearing some 200 years ago, when underground salt extraction caused the riverside land to subside.
Boat entries are being invited, (entry fee £15.00) and land based visitors will be welcome, with stalls, sideshows, Mikron Theatre, boat handling, fun fair and much more.
Winsford Town Council are enthusiastically supporting the Regatta with investment in dredging for better moorings and better boater facilities to enhance the attractions of this beautiful location.
This is in addition to the improvements they implemented last year.
The Regatta will include:
