The Heritage of the Weaver

Visit the River Weaver and the towns it serves - as the River makes its way through Nantwich, Winsford, Northwich and Frodsham - and you will realise the River and its Navigation has a fascinating story based on a rich industrial past.

The Navigation, its locks, its bridges and arches provide an innovative legend of the waterways revolution.

But there is also a fascinating story alongside the river.

Its boatyards, the Anderton Boat Lift, Salt, Imperial Chemical Industries … they all play a part in the Heritage of the River Weaver.

Use the above toolbar to enjoy a pictorial trip as we take a look at some of the Heritage of the River Weaver Navigation.
