Cruising the River Weaver

The Anderton Boat Lift

The Weaver is only navigable from Winsford Bridge to its confluence with the Ship Canal

Northwich River Festival
14th July 2018 - 15th July 2018

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2017, the Northwich River Festival is returning in 2018 - and promises to be bigger and better.

Moving from August to July will allow more groups to be part of the event which will again include the much-anticipated Dragon Boat Racing, but will also see the introduction of Raft Racing - which is guaranteed to be great fun for participants and spectators alike.

For those who want to experience life afloat, but don’t wish to expend too much energy, there will be regular boat trips from the Festival site.

Away from the water, there will be a non-stop programme of Street Theatre and Music, as well as other activities for young and old to enjoy - not forgetting, of course, the famous Duck Race!

Timed to coincide with the town’s monthly Artisan Market - which complements Northwich’s wide choice of indepenent and national stores, there will be much to see and do away from the Rivers, whilst the Festival’s own array of Charity and Trade stalls will make the weekend a shopper’s paradise!

There will be FREE, ALL-DAY Car Parking available on Verdin Park - just a short walk from the main site.

Organised by The Rotary Club of Northwich, their nominated charities to receive funds from this event are The Alzheimers Society and Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
