RWNS members are invited to the IWA Meetings at the Boat Museum ....

9 October 2018- Derek & Jeanne Smith - Talk on 'Trailboating with Wilderness ‘Olive  Derek and Jeanne Smith are keen trailboaters and share their experiences in this illustrated talk that looks at cruising on remote waterways. They are able to take their boat to parts of the UK & Europe that other boats cannot reach. 

13 November 2018- Duncan Davenport Canal and River Trust

Customer Operations Manager, North Wales & Borders , Northwich Office .

Talk on: canal & river maintenance, winter stoppages and repairing the Middlewich breach. 

11 December 2018- Terry Noland  Wirral Community Narrow Boat Trust

Wirral Community Narrowboat Trust (W.C.N.T.) celebrated 30 years of operation in 2014. Originally known as Wirral Narrowboat Association (W.N.A.) has enjoyed both the lean and good years, in the last five years  has made positive progress with its team of volunteers having commissioned two new boats built for  specific disability requirements.

This is followed by mince pies, sherry and our bumper raffle. 

8 January 2019 – Malcolm Bridge tells us about his adventures , spending a year on the Irish Waterways in an English narrowboat which,  incidentally, happened to be all-electric. The actual title of the talk is :'Ampère in Ireland' , a green power event. 

12 February 2019 –Phil Clayton  , Caledonian Canal

Talks about the history construction and operation of this epic 60 mile canal cutting through the highlands from Inverness to Fort William and the famous Neptune Staircase. 

12 March 2019- Branch AGM

Followed by Martin Buck, Waterways Chaplain of ‘ Workplace Matters’  talks on the developing national network both rural and urban along our waterways. 

9  April 2019 – Ken Pye Managing , Director of Discover Liverpool, discover the history of Liverpool Port its Docks and the Dockers, its rise, fall, and rise again.

All IWA Chester and District Branch meetings are held at 7:45 pm on the second Tuesday of the month at the Tom Rolt Conference Centre, National Waterways Musuem, Ellesmere Port.
